| | One of the things that we wanted to commit as a small group is to
engage in community service. Aside from meeting together and serving
in the church, community service allows us to tangible apply our
faith beyond the four walls of the church. So to start things off, some
members of Sparks served at the San Francisco Food Bank
where packed at total of 3,700 pounds of food for homeless shelters and other community service organizations.
The SF Food Bank was only the tip of the iceberg. More to come in 2007!
Community Service at the Food Bank

Looks like Costco on the inside.

Tons of Food to Pack. Since I was starving...I was able to steal a few pieces of
salami. It tasted goood:)

Tons of left over cereal. This would be enough for one person to last a year or more.

Angela falling "asleep" when the supervisor is explaining what we were to do.

Phil all smiles.

Jun was a taping machine.
Acting pretty: Liz, Thomas, and Tim modeling the latest hand and headware.

Angela getting ready to pack some meat.

Packing meat assembly line style.

So what was our reward for our hard work? Free sweaters courtesy of Jonathan Kang!

3,700 lbs in 3 hours! I believe the supervisor said that was the most meat packed in that time span!
Not only did we have fun, but it is encouraging to know none of that food will go to waste.
